Karin Castro is an experienced Security Advisor with DBI – The Danish Institute for Fire and Security Technology, delivering advisory and consultancy services to private and public organisations within security risk management disciplines. She has a strong track record with client cases, R&D as well as training and development. Specialist areas include protective security and CT on strategic and tactical levels, security culture (the human factor) and security risk assessment.

With an M.Sc. in Security Risk Management and BA. in Anthropology from Copenhagen University, her previous roles within the security field include business owner and managing partner, retained advisor to U/HNWIs, intelligence analyst, and academic researcher.

Karin Castro is also an active board member and Women In Security (WIS) community liaison at ASIS Denmark Chapter 228. She volunteers as a mentor and board member with associations working to improve intersectional diversity, equity, and inclusion.
