David has previously served for 39 years within the UK police service. For the last 10 years of this he worked in the area of counter terrorism protective security, specialising in insider threat and infrastructure protection. In 2020 he was appointed by Sir John Saunders as a Security Subject Matter Expert to the Manchester Arena Public Inquiry and concluded this work at the end of 2020. He is both a Chartered Security Professional with the Security Institute, and a Principal Member of the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES).
