Head of Security, ExCeL London
Henry Havis is the Head of Security at ExCeL London, one of the UK’s leading exhibitions and convention centres in the capital. He is responsible for defining and implementing the venue’s security strategy, working closely with a wide-range of stakeholders to keep the venue and wider estate safe and secure. He is also the Chair of the South Newham Community Security Zone and Chair of the Association of Event Venues Security Group.

Henry also chaired the Joint Security Working Group for NHS Nightingale London during the pandemic, gaining valuable experience in creating Covid safe environments and working alongside government and emergency service stakeholders.

Prior to joining ExCeL, Henry spent 11 years at Canary Wharf Group, as a Security Manager. Before that, he served in HM Armed Forces with the Royal Anglian Regiment completing several operational tours and many overseas exercises.

He is looking forward to working with colleagues across the industry to make positive changes using the Protect Duty as a spring board to making Public Accessible Locations a safer place to be.
