Guy has over 30 years experience across the operational incident management, organisational resilience and security space with a focus on critical infrastructure resilience in strategic road and national / international rail sectors.

He has demonstrated success in defining resilience parameters and systems across the swathe of sub-disciplines (emergency planning, business continuity and security), ensuring alignment to best practice resilience models and regulatory requirements, and in engaging key stakeholders to deliver success.

At Network Rail, Guy was responsible for setting protective security policy for a mix of crowded places and key operational infrastructure. He contributed to the UK railway protective security regulations and was an active member of industry and international security-focussed bodies e.g. EU RAILSEC expert committee and chairing the European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) Security Working Group. He is known for developing and introducing effective major incident/crisis management processes for three organisations leading to direct improvements in response to and recovery from disruptive events. He actively promotes security and resilience within the wider work of the organisation, embedding national security and resilience thinking within the work of business teams.

Guy qualified as a strategic incident commander in both road and rail sectors and has extensive crisis command experience. He is used to operating in high pressure, ambiguous environments and making safety critical decisions in complex, volatile and uncertain situations.
